The CZ-85B design has much in common with the CZ-75: single and double action operation, double column magazine, and internal firing pin block. Its ergonomics have been enhanced with ambidextrous safety, making it suitable for left- and right-handed shooters.

Norinco’s NZ-85B is an excellent choice for novice and expert alike. It features forged (not cast) steel construction, chrome-lined barrel, and ambidextrous safety. Like its Czechoslovakian counterpart, the NZ-85B’s slide rails are on the inside rather than the outside of the frame, a system said to increase accuracy and smooth operation.

A CZ clone for $400 ? I was slightly skeptical, but after watching some YOU Tubes, decided to pull the trigger (pun fully intended). A very pleasant surprise indeed ! Blued, not that crappy hardcoat (very easy to fix up scratches with some OxphoBlue or equivalent). A steel guide rod ! Saves having one lathed up (lets face it, plastic ones are crap). Grips are too bulky and slippery, but got beautiful G10 thin grips by Pachmayr through Brownells ($35 US delivered to Canada). The NZ-85B looks good, feels good now, beautiful action, smooth & accurate. Get them while we still can. Comes with 2 mags, extra ones are available through Zahal (get the ones with the steel floorplate, fit and function perfectly). ‘Nuff said …

This is my third firearm purchase from Marstar and my second Norinco pistol. My first Norinco is a 1911A1 which is extremely well built and accurate. Having owned a Remington UMC-built 1911 previously I have a solid basis for comparison and the Norinco is hands down the best. The NZ-85B, which I have just received promises to be every bit as good. The fit and finish on both is excellent despite some adverse comments that I have read on other forums. The only thing I have changed out are the grips, and primarily because of aesthetics. Marstar’s pricing and service has been outstanding throughout my experience with them. I will continue to do business with Marstar and have no reservations in recommending them to other shooters.

The fit, finish and trigger on the NZ are impressive to say the least.I was extremely happy purchasing this 9mm beauty.A huge bang for your buck on this one!I can compare the Norinco to the CZ 75b because I own one.The only thing I regret is not buying two of them when they were on sale. 😉
A pleasure doing business with Marstar again.

Excellent handgun for the price. Good finish but could be improved. The slide color is a bit reddish rather than black, similar to some of the soviet union era guns. The grips are ok but not perfect, still looking good though. The trigger is much better than I expected. The gun feels like a tank but I didn’t shoot it yet. Overall I don’t think that one can get something similar for such a low price.
